#016 COMMERCIALISATION OF THE WOMB
FACTS
The Hindu Daily issue dated Nov. 1, 2009 contains an Open Page article, by Ms. Anjali Anchayil and Sapne Raheen. The article says: "It is left to our legislators to decide whether the pricing of a womb is tolerable or not".
BLOGGER'S VIEWS
*A few poor women in India may rent out their wombs to childless couples. This, they may be doing under conditions of utmost distress.
*Many Members of Parliament, and Members of Legislative Assembly, in India, sell themselves for supporting this group or that group. Who will decide whether the pricing of an MP/MLA is tolerable or not?
