027 The plight of upper caste poor

Nobody in India can select his own caste.
Births decide castes.
A non-existent God cannot decide on -in which caste a person is to be born. (Bhagavad Gita says that God decides that).

It was true that dalits and tribals were persecuted for Centuries. We must also recognise that this persecution was not the work of the poor of the upper castes of those days. Some upper caste servants might have executed the orders of the 'uppercaste master', as they had no altenative. The upper-caste poor of those days might have participated under coercion.

Anyway, those who ordered and enforced persecution of the lower castes are not in our midst today.

We have to see what obtains today.

The upper caste politicians, landlords, industrialists, business persons, and professionals made peace with the dalits, BCs, Girijans, and the Minorities , by offering them reservations in Government jobs. The rich, in order to protect their own power and wealth are throwing some job-splinters, like baits. If the politicians have true sympathies for the BCs, dalits and Girijans, they-the rulers should surrender their properties to the Government and the Society. In other words, there should be reservations in inherited properties also. Why should the upper-caste poor ALONE sacrifice their jobs? Let the upper-caste rich sacrifice something.

Question: Why don't you support removal of reservations for the BCs,dalits and Girijans? Why don't you insist upon reservations for OC-poor?

Ans: Reservations for the dalits and Girijans are not in excess of their population. They are only getting what they are entitled to get as per their population-proportion. If at all, anything can be removed, it can only be, what they draw from General Quota on merit. This area is to be examined by experts. Besides, strict implementation of creamy-layer policy, will ensure that the poorest among the dalits and girijans get their legitimate dues.

Reservations for OC-poor are not practicable for two reasons. The percentage of unreserved REMAINDER after exhausting all the existing quotas is too meagre. Even if reservations are introduced from that little, they will be knocked away by affluent persons with false certificates. Example: Rajya Sabha elections. Mr. Manmohan Singh was originally a resident of Punjab or Delhi. But, he had to contest to Rajya Sabha from Assam. He made a declaration that he was a resident of Guwahati, by giving a Guwahati address. Some technical flaws and legal lacunae are sufficient for bureaucrats and courts to uphold the election. We follow rules by breaching.

There is no substitute for Marxism , because it alone can solve the problem of inequalities generated by inheritances. It is the Nationl Wealth which is to be confiscated from private hands and placed at the disposal of the society for common good.
