031 India has become a postmortemist society

India has become a postmortem-ist society. 2. The word post-mortem may not be existent. We can coin the word, if it does not exist. This coin has become an inevitable necessity and an imperative need. 3. Frauds take place first. The Government and the society will just be onlookers, when they see the frauds taking place with the connivance of those who are supposed to protect them. Media or some interested person / group bring the frauds to light. Whomsoever concerned with the frauds, having the authority, power and duty to prevent them behave as though they are not aware of their happening. 4. Cost of conducting investigations and post-mortems, often outweigh the benefits of such enquiries, particularly when the ordering authorities are not interested in their progress. They ordered the enquiries only because some x or y is making is raising a political issue and milking it. They try their best to prevent the enquiries being taken to their logical conclusive ends. 5. Best examples which we can quote: a) Boforce Gun deal, in which the former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi himself was one of the accused. The inquiry had to die because successive Governments were unwilling to pursue them. b) Bhopal Gas Disaster is another case of similar Government apathy. PREVENTION Prevention is not altogether impossible, if there is a will. That "will and determination" will not come from the Government. It must come from the Society. All the classes of the Society, must have that will. Not only the elitist society.
